A voice shattered the jovial atmosphere in a bustling women's clothing store, demanding all our money. My heart sank as I turned to face a black-masked stranger pointing a gun at me. Suddenly, my role as the store manager transformed into that of a protector. As I handed over the cash and cell phones, I couldn't escape the weight of responsibility for the customers' safety. We were ushered into a back room, but little did I know, this traumatic experience was just the beginning...
I dedicate this podcast to survivors of trauma who courageously share their story and to our law enforcement, 911 dispatchers and all first responders who walk into the unknown, only knowing they are there to protect and serve. I am forever grateful.
