Do you ever find yourself echoing Moses' heartfelt plea in Exodus 33, "Show me your glory"? In this thought-provoking sermon, we delve into the significance of that cry and how it relates to our lives today. Through a charming anecdote about a woman visiting Abraham Lincoln with a plate of cookies, we examine how God might feel when we approach Him with our requests and the importance of seeking more than just the fulfillment of our needs. Reflecting on our prayer requests over the past 30 days, we discuss what these petitions might reveal about our hunger for the living God.

As Moses boldly sought to know God's ways amidst a sea of people, we too must press in beyond mere activities and dedicate ourselves to truly understanding His heart. Spending time with God and studying Him closely allows us to see beyond His acts and into His divine intentions. We also explore what it might feel like if God appeared to us and asked what we desired – could there be any greater request than to simply ask, "Show me your glory"?

To deepen our understanding of God's glory, we discuss Luther's theology of the cross, which redefines traditional notions of power and wisdom in the light of Jesus' crucifixion. Luther asserts that God's power is not merely human strength magnified but manifested in weakness, while His wisdom is only revealed through the cross.
