It's time for another Doc Watch, and this time around we watched the Netflix documentary, "The Death & Life of Marsha P. Johnson". Marsha was a prolific figure in the early days of the gay rights movement in New York. She was on the front lines of the Stonewall riots and was a bit of a legend in the community until her mysterious death in 1992.
When Marsha's body was pulled from the Hudson River, police claimed it was a suicide, but several folks in the community didn't believe them. This documentary follows another trans woman who is all too familiar with violence against trans women as she digs into Marsha's case. Was it really a suicide, or was Marsha murdered?
