Husband and Wife conclude Part II: Heroes: Chapter 3: Fighters & Strong Men, from A Treasury of Jewish Folklore. In this episode of the Sacrilegious Book Club, topics include the notion of Brain over Brawn; hammers and epiphanies; mennorahs and Channukah; double spies and Severus; AND boxers and Houdini. Though we only read one story, it was a lengthy one that fully held our attention and helped us understand the background of a very important Jewish holiday. Next time, we will move to Part 3 and cover some entries from The Human Comedy: Droll Characters. We hope you'll get a copy of the book and read along with us.
