In recent weeks, we’ve covered the debates around COVID vaccine policy in the US — who’s engaging in them, how they’re reaching the mainstream, and what they’re doing to our political discourse. Now we’re bringing on a guest to speak directly to vaccine misinformation from a scientific perspective. With a presidential candidate whose anti-vaccine views recently led him to blame vaccine research for major epidemics in the twentieth century — HIV and Spanish flu — introducing these ideas to the Democratic primary, and outright contempt for and dismissal of the COVID vaccine prevalent on the right, we’re interested in taking a look at vaccine research and development with someone who has scientific expertise on the topic.
