episode 109: Special Guest Eva Rathgeber Shares Her Experience on Motherhood, Overcoming the Grief & Loss of Losing Her Two Teen Daughters Sophia and Nicole to a Tragic Car Accident, & the Unlimited Potential for Resiliency of the Human Spirit

Life’s is too short and while we get caught up in the monotony of our daily routines, there are moments when we learn to appreciate the magnitude of that statement. In November 2022 I was walking at night, and I received a call from my close friend from college Natasha. Natasha asked if I’d speak to Eva as a psychic medium following the recent loss of her daughters Nicole (16) and Sophia (17).  From the moment that I spoke to Eva we deeply connected, and I strongly believe that we can make a difference when we come together, and that small wins always matter (Ripple Effect).

Nicole and Sophia were driving home around a curve on North Sumter Boulevard in Northport, Florida when their car lost traction, flipped over a bridge, and landed on its roof inside a pond. The two sisters lost their lives at the scene of this tragic accident. Sophia was a senior, and Nicole was a junior. They are remembered by their parents, Eva and John Rathgeber, their older sister Denise Rathgeber (26), along with their three younger foster brothers-Billy (7), Logan (5) and Connor (2).

During my initial conversation with Eva, I felt her keen power of resiliency which deeply inspired me. When Eva and I met in person approximately two weeks after first talking, Eva asked if I knew of any charities in the area that might consider donating to her family during the upcoming holiday season. Eva informed me that no charities or nonprofit organizations had any availability to her family during the holiday season since she had missed all of the deadlines for being considered for charitable donations.

It was during this time that I remembered that Successful Jocks hosted its 23 Days of Christmas Blessings Dinner to Help Families in Need in December.  When Eva asked if I could contact Successful Jocks about her situation for the holidays 2022, I was elated when Kim Murphy, the Founder and Chief Executive Director of Successful Jocks responded to our inquiry right away and informed us that “they were making a place for us at their event (which was occurring within less than a week).  I had the pleasure of attending the event with Eva, John and their three foster sons Billy, Logan, and Connor. What an amazing experience to witness firsthand the outpouring of support and incredible generosity that Sean Murphy-Bunting, the organization’s President, Kim Murphy, and the rest of Successful Jocks displayed at the event! I encourage all members of our audience to visit Successful Jocks’ website at www.successfuljocks.org.    I look forward to sharing our discussion with you in this episode.
