Skietie, as Neil is also known, realised at an early age that academics is not where his talents lie and that he would have to pursue a career in sport. The biggest moment of his life to date was walking down the 18th fairway on Sunday at the Vodacom Championship and realising that he could actually make a living from playing golf.
Highly decorated Sunshine Tour golfer Neil Schietekat kicked off the 2023 campaign with a victory at the Royal Harare Golf Club in Zimbabwe, before heading off to Asia for his second tour.
