It’s a huge weekend in domestic football with the Australia Cup final this Saturday night taking centre stage – last week we talked to Brisbane gaffer Ross Aloisi after he led the Roar to their first ever final in the competition, this week one of his old sparring partners Steve Corica about to lead Sydney FC into their fourth finals appearance will join us.
At the end of the last international season – we were among the many around the world who were saddened to hear that the voice of football for generations of fans – and this show of course – the wonderful Martin Tyler had put down his Sky News mic for the last time to end an era where his mellifluous voice was synonymous with the game. The good news is that Martin is as astute an observer as he ever was, and joined us to look at the English Premier League with plenty of stories from what was a weekend where the script was flipped. Wolves in what would rank as one of the biggest upsets in years knocking off the Champions Manchester City and Ange Postecoglou riding his luck to get Spurs home against a 9 man Liverpool just a couple – not to mention Luton rocketing out of the relegation zone after breaking the Toffees hearts at Goodison Park while Bournemouth were given a lesson by Arsenal.
The lads discuss the Socceroos fixtures in London just over a week away, the Three Lions at Wembley and New Zealand at the Brentford Community Stadium.
