On his new record Often in the Pause, Seattle-based singer/songwriter Kris Orlowski, continues to explore the themes of authenticity, loss, and a search for connection that has always been central to his songwriting.
His meditative, melodic dream pop, shaded with flecks of alt-country and soft rock, pushes past the earnest Pacific Northwest indie folk to something distinctly American and positively timeless.
Kris has been busy since the release of his received debut album, “Believer” (2014), with multiple national tours (Jamestown Revival, Ivan & Alyosha), while many of his songs have been featured on primetime television shows. (Grey’s Anatomy, Tomorrow People, Hart of Dixie).
Kris and the band released their sophomore album Often in the Pause on May 6th, 2016. His music has ranked in the top 30 on Billboard. And now a new compilation album will be released on October 7th, 2016, featuring some of his favorite producers, songwriters and artists from Nashville, Los Angeles and Seattle to create alternate versions of songs from his album Often in the Pause, including Budo from Macklemore, and Dia Frampton from The Voice.
