New Jersey Votes: Yes to Gas Hike, Maybe to Casinos

New Jersey lawmakers approved an increase to the gasoline tax by 23 cents per gallon. The tax per gallon will be 37.5 cents a gallon — up from the previous 14.5 cents. Both houses of the state legislature voted for gas tax hike, marking New Jersey's first gas price increase in three decades, but earlier last week it looked like it wasn't going to happen.

Nancy Solomon, director of WNYC's 2016 election coverage and managing editor of New Jersey Public Radio, discusses the vote and the politics of the decision and  Ilya Marritz, WNYC reporter, previews the upcoming vote to expand casino gambling outside of Atlantic City.

What's in it for New Jersey's working class residents? @NancySolomon2 explains: pic.twitter.com/uPVZzTrHkZ
