Within the context of the story, they evoke a sense of adventure, fear, moral conduct, and romance. Fairytales are timeless because they are ever relatable no matter the change in technology, or culture. Retellings of fairytales have been put into unique combinations. Books like Cinder by Marissa Meyer reimagines Cinderella as a cyborg. Spike is a horror romance of Beauty and the Beast. The number of adaptations and retellings go on.
