One way to ensure that the people don't get a say in their own country is to appoint officials who can remove candidates from the ballot. In what world do they think that this would bode well with anyone who believes in democracy. Either Trump is the greatest thing since sliced bread or the next Sadam Hussein. Seeing how the country is falling apart at the seams with the politicians in office now, there must be a reason to try and keep the power.

David in Thorton puts it bluntly, "They're not trying to save Democracy, they're trying to save Democrats". It would be of wise speculation to look at how they are trying to keep us from voting for who we want. Aaron in Denver pointed out, "Trump didn't even have a chance in Colorado. Why would they fuel his campaign by trying to silence his voters?". It makes everyone and their mothers scratch their chins and wonder.
