The domain name industry has been red hot in 2023, with million-dollar sales becoming routine. Today we’re looking at the top 20 biggest domain name deals of the past year - multi-million dollar sales of ultra-premium names like Help.com and Max.com to shorter numeric domains and brands related to AI.

Help.com nabbed the #1 spot, selling for a whopping $3 million to Name Experts in January 2023. Let’s start there and work our way down the list of the 20 priciest domain sales from this past year...

The domain name market saw some massive sales in 2023, with million-dollar sales becoming almost commonplace. Let's take a look at the 20 most expensive reported domain sales from 2023 and the background behind each one.

Help.com was purchased in January by NameExperts for $3 million. This ultra-premium domain has immense brand potential and HIGH commercial value for any company in consulting, assistance, customer service, etc.

2. Max.com - $1.8 million

Max is an incredibly brandable three-letter .com, which sold via Above.com in November 2023 for $1.8 million. Short domains like this have extremely high value

3. Hurt.com - $1.5 million

4. You.ai - $700,000

AI and tech domains are very popular, demonstrated by you.ai's $700,000 sale via Sedo in October. You.ai has nice branding potential in AI, personalization, conversatial interfaces, etc.

Three-letter .com sales continued to shine as ecl.com sold for $600,000 via K-Ventures in March. ECL has nice tech/abstract branding potential.

As you can see, domain names that are short, brandable, high-impact or related to technology continue to command sky-high sale prices into the millions. Although most individual domain sales happen privately, clearly some very big checks are being written to secure these internet assets. We’ll have to wait and see if 2024 brings any domain sales records in this red-hot domain space.
