When their daughter Blair goes off to the Peace Corp and won't be home for Christmas the Kranks aren't feeling the Christmas cheer. This leads them to the decision to skip Christmas all together and take a cruise for themselves, However, the Kranks live in a neighborhood that believes everyone should participate the holiday. This leads to a series of hilarious hijinks from the neighbors and the Kranks as they both try to enforce their stances on how to approach Christmas. Things take a turn and there's a mad dash to fix a sudden that arises for the Kranks. What happens and can the Kranks really just skip Christmas?
