Dr. Melina B. Jampolis, MD Talks New Book - Spice Up, Live Long Book

You already know spices can add more flavor to your food, but
did you know they can also improve your health and possibly
help you live longer? It’s time to pull down those bottles
collecting dust on your spice rack and put them to proper use. In
Spice Up, Live Long: A Guide To Using Herbs And Spices To Live A
Longer, Healthier And More Vibrant Life, you’ll learn exactly how
to do that… and why these superfoods just might help you guard
against disease.
While no herb or spice is a cure or “magic pill,” almost all of them are rich in antioxidants and have natural antiinflammatory properties that can potentially reduce your risk of many of the common diseases of aging. Coupled
with the anti-inflammatory diet recommended in the book, adding more spice to your life and plate can improve
your overall health.
This book breaks down the research in easy-to-understand terms, while giving greater insight into the world of
herbs and spices. You’ll discover:
• Food, spices, and longevity
• Spices around the world and where people live the longest
• Age accelerators & what to avoid
• Spices and the conditions/diseases of aging
• How to use spices every day
• 80+ spice-rich recipes by Chef Aaron Robbins, Executive Chef of Soho House, West Hollywood
Whether you’re an avid cook or someone who hates to cook, Spice Up, Live Long will help you include more
spices in your everyday diet and age more gracefully.

Each book purchased will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry, a national campaign ending childhood hunger in
America.ABOUT DR. MELINA: Dr. Melina is an internist and board certified physician nutrition specialist (one of only a

With the recent release of the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, consumers are advised to use herbs and
spices to flavor foods when reducing added sugars, saturated fat, and sodium to improve their health. The Dietary
Guidelines also point out that herbs and spices add enjoyment to healthy foods and meals. Spice Up, Live Long will give
readers a wealth of practical information about how to flavor foods with many herbs and spices. Consumers will derive
many benefits from using herbs and spices: 1.) they will experience new and enjoyable flavors in lots of different foods;
2.) they will realize health benefits directly from the herbs and spices they use; and also 3.) they will realize the health
benefits from decreasing added sugars, saturated fat, and sodium in their diets.
