Sans vraiment de surprise, Oppenheimer de Christopher Nolan fait figure de grand favori pour ces Oscars 2024 avec pas moins de 13 nominations, dont Meilleur film, Meilleure réalisation, Meilleur acteur, meilleur acteur dans un second rôle, Meilleure actrice dans un second rôle et Meilleur scénario adapté. Autre film qui tire son épingle du jeu, Pauvres créatures, avec 11 nominations. Le film de Martin Scorsese Killers of the Flower Moon reçoit lui 10 nominations, et Barbie "seulement" 8.
