You Have One Chance To Make a Bad First Impression

What makes a successful singer or songwriter? Is it perseverance? Is it working with seasoned co-songwriters or industry veterans? Could your stumbling block be the lack of networking or that first impression? There are often more questions than answers. Enter Marc-Alan Barnette to help us navigate those swampy waters.

Marc-Alan Barnette, aka “THUNDER THROAT”, has always been a “square peg in an octagonal hole”. His blue eyed soul voice, has drawn comparisons to Ray Charles and Delbert McClinton, and his seemingly endless collections of songs pretty much summon up everything, covering country, blues, rock, bluegrass, soul, and every comedy. The man has a lot of sides.

His over 40 year career in music has spanned the rock era of the70’s and 80’s, moving to country in the late 80’s, scoring songs recorded by “GRAMMY WINNER SHELBY LYNNE” (THAT’S WHERE IT HURTS), country superstars, DAVID BALL (TOO MUCH BLOOD IN MY ALCOHOL LEVEL) JOHN BERRY (RESCUED ME), and Warner Brothers artist FRANKIE BALLARD (BAREFEET) and many, many, more. A natural born entertainer, he is a bundle of energy, often described as a ‘cross between professional wrestling and tractor pull” something you just have to see to appreciate. His songwriting is instinctive, covering many genres, and always lives up to a line in his songwriting anthem, “TABLES AND CHAIRS” that says, “You don’t choose music, music chooses you.”

With Marc-Alan Barnette, it seems music has chosen wisely.
