episode 76: Featuring THE DISPOSSESSED & NARCISSA + 1 season finale, and 3 new seasons coming soon!

Greetings, and welcome to The End Last Week, This Week, and Next Week, the podcast companion to The End, the listener-focused directory and weekly newsletter that shines a light back on audio fiction shows after they've reached the finale of a season or the conclusion of the series. I am your host and the curator of The End, Evo Terra.

Before we start I need to thank the horror/mystery series Dupont Investigations for being our Title Sponsor for the next few weeks. Their show recently posted the season 1 finale, and I encourage you to listen. You’ll find links on the site, since they’re our Title Sponsor and all. And yes, you too can become a Title Sponsor, or a Supporting Creative Shop, or simply an Individual Supporter of The End. Details on all of that TheEnd.fyi/support.

And now, let’s get into it, shall we?

Last Week

The most recent issue of The End—the 76th—highlighted just one show in either the Recently Completed Series or Recent Season Finales sections… and it happened to wrap in the last few days.

  • ????????️????‍♀️ • Morbid Forest, a narrated horror anthology from Shawn Moreau and Naomi Richards, posted the Season 4 finale on the 13th of February. Listen to the 52 current episodes of those four seasons in a bit over 25 hours.
  • And be sure to listen to the end of the audio file to hear trailers a snippet from the first episode of the show.

This Week

With every issue, I make two recommendations for great audio fiction I personally love. As with all things in life, YMMV.

  • ????️????☠️ • My first recommendation is The Dispossessed, a dramatized supernatural thriller from Glisten+. The Dispossessed is part of a brand-new series of podcasts featuring top-tier SAG actors. It joins other series such as Can't Relax, League of Wonder, and Boss Monster Adventures in the GLISTEN+ slate. As for this show, it’s very well produced, and rather timely given the topic. It's neither "jump scare" nor gory horror, so it may appeal to those who don't normally go in for the frights. Here’s a snippet from the first episode: [snippet plays] The Dispossessed is a complete series with 8 episodes. You can listen to it all in about 2 hours.

  • ????????????‍♀️ • My next recommendation is Narcissa, a dramatized scifi thriller from QCODE Media. This show is produced with all the QCODE quality you expect, and presented as an unlikely scifi love story. It’s worth a listen. Here’s the trailer: [trailer plays] Narcissa is complete with 8 episodes. You’ll need about 5 hours to listen to it all.

Next Week

The latest issue of The End has 9 entries in the New Seasons Coming Soon section, and 3 of them start up again in the next few days.

Season 9 of Am I Old Yet?, a dramatised slice-of-life comedy series from Flloyd Kennedy & Thunder's Mouth Theatre, starts on the 16 of Februrary. That’s tomorrow. Catch up with the current 100 episodes in about 21 hours

Season 6 of The Mysteries of Derlin County, a dramatized comedy parody from K&B, starts on Febuary 20th. Catch up with the current 87 episodes in 37 and a half hours.

Season 3 of Legacy Door, a narrated cosmic horror mystery series from Bob J. Koester & Dueling Genre Production, starts on the 21st of February. Catch up with the current 18 episodes in about 9 hours.

And as a reminder, trailers for those three shows and the one I mentioned at the top of the episode are coming your way right after I say…

And that’s all for this episode of The End Last Week, This Week, and Next Week. For these and the other audio fiction shows featured, highlighted, and coming soon that were part of the 76th  issue of The End, including all sorts of new and exciting easy ways to listen, and something very new called Collections please visit TheEnd.fyi. I’m Evo Terra. Thanks for listening.
