  • A female indie podcaster has won a trademark case against another podcaster who used the same name. On Monday, a judge ordered Canna Campbell to pay AUD$114,000 (US $75,000) in legal costs after infringing the name of Rhondalynn Korolak’s Financial Foreplay podcast. It was registered as a trademark.

  • JAR Audio has shared the winner of the company’s Audio Pilot Competition for Emerging Women Podcasters. The podcast from Ann Kane highlights gender bias in the medical system, called A Touch of Hysteria. The competition is open again for this year.

  • The Podcast Sessions has published a new issue of the African podcast magazine, called “Give Her, Her Flowers”. The edition is free to read online; articles include “Female, Nigerian and Feminist”, and “The Collective Power of Women’s Voices”.
  • Podtrac published its top podcasts, publishers and networks for March. The top five podcasts are regularly hosted by women.
  • Quill has posted a list of 50 trailblazing women in podcasting.
  • And, unions at Spotify Studios and The Ringer have reached tentative agreements with Spotify management. Both bargaining units made important gains in wages and achieved first-of-their-kind protections against Artificial Intelligence (AI).

  • Dear Daughter has returned for a new series from the BBC, with 15 new inspirational and thought-provoking episodes, hosted by Namulanta Kombo and featuring letters of advice for daughters everywhere.
  • Last week saw the launch of Electoral Dysfunction, a new podcast from Sky News in the UK with Sky News Political Editor Beth Rigby, Labour MP Jess Phillips and former leader of the Scottish Conservatives Ruth Davidson. Billed as a challenge to all the male-led politics podcasts in the UK, it comes as the country heads to another election anytime soon.
