I have come to learn for myself that the opposite of faith is not doubt, but rather the opposite of faith is certainty! Having doubt is to be fundamentally human & asking questions is the first step to finding answers and clarity. Let’s shed the shadow of shame cast on doubt and instead seek and find clarity that only comes with asking questions.

Julia is a licensed marriage and family therapist, researcher, writer, presenter, and mother of 4, three of whom are LGBTQ+ identifying children, whom she passionately loves, accepts, and supports. Her PhD research at BYU focused on LDS parents’ process in coming to accept a transgender child. Through that research Julia was immersed in many families’ sacred stories, and she is dedicated to sharing their words and the understandings that came from them. She has given presentations around the country, appeared on the Listen, Learn and Love podcast, written on the blog TRANSformations, and she loves to work with LGBTQ+ individuals and their families in therapy.
