My journey as the 49ers Fangirl began on January 14, 1990. It was on that day that as a young girl, I traveled to San Francisco with my family for the 1989 NFC Championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams. A native Angeleno, I was rooting for the Rams. Then at some point, in the middle of the second quarter, I turned to my mom and said, “I love Joe Montana.” And that was it. I became a die-hard, gold-blooded Niner Faithful and never looked back. I cried when the Niners lost to the Giants in the 1990 NFC Championship game – damn Matt Bahr field goal! Instead of a Sweet 16, I went to Dallas for the NFC Championship game, which did not turn out nearly as well as the Rams game...

[Podcast EP #40] With 49ers, Everything is Awful
Hello 49ers’ fans. I hope you’ve recovered from Sunday’s loss, but you probably haven’t. This San Francisco 49ers team is certainly the worst I’ve ever seen and I wonder if it’s the worst in franchise history. Per usual, the Niners were in the game for awhile and then a Mike Davis fumble on the one yard line derailed the team. Colin Kaepernick had a good day throwing for 398 yards and two touchdowns, and DuJuan Harris looked good with 58 yards rushing and 89 yards receiving and a touchdown of his own. JaCorey Shepherd opened some eyes with his combined 104 yards on kickoff returns. Other than that, it was a mess.
