Dust My Broom by Ike and Tina Turner

Label: Tangerine 1019
Year: 1971
Condition: M-
Last Price: $60.00. Not currently available for sale.

What a great single! The A side is a cover of the Elmore James' Blues classic, remade in a Northern Soul style so different you won't recognize the song if you're familiar with it. The B side is another uptempo Northern Soul dancer well worth seeking out. By the way, the label says "Dust" is 2:20 long, but when I recorded it the song turned out to be less than 2 minutes! Another nerdy note is that the couple had no Tangerine albums, so this was a non-album single. Finally, as a non-album single it's perhaps not surprising that you won't find this recording on iTunes or other digital music sources, only a completely different (and not nearly as good) version they recorded on Blue Thumb Records. Note: This beautiful copy grades Near Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).
