Brexit and the pharmaceutical industry
One of the areas Britain are world leaders is in the development of medicines. Two of the biggest global pharmaceutical companies are based in the UK, GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca, and one in five of the world's biggest selling prescription drugs were developed here. Therefore it is important to make sure the deal we do with the rest of the European Union when we leave the EU works for the pharmaceutical industry.
