Should courts overrule legacy bequests?


Three animal charities have appealed against a decision to give a woman a share of her mother's estate even though her mother had cut her out of her will and left the estate to charity. Family lawyer Marilyn Stowe and Vicky Browning, the chief executive of the charity leaders network Acevo, discuss the implications for charities and relatives. After this interview was broadcast, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the charities, reducing the amount the daughter will receive from the will.
