Arizona EMCast

AZEMCast is THE competitive emergency medicine podcast. The host, Dr. Aaron Leetch, moderates a panel of emergency physicians who will go head to head navigating a clinical case from the Ring Down to the Work Up to the Dispo. Panelists are awarded points for their approach to the case and their clinical application of evidence-based medicine. However, points are deducted for weak arguments or reliance on experience-based medicine. The panelist with the most point at the end of the case will win the opportunity to soapbox about whatever aspect of EM they are most passionate about. We hope this podcast will model the knowledge, skills and approach that will help you take the best care of your patients. Posts ≠ medical advice http://uanow.org/participate

August 2016 - Alcohol and Alcohol Withdrawal

August = College Students = Alcohol and in preparation for those Friday nights (and sometimes Wednesday mornings), we are discussing too much and too little alcohol. Brian Drummond and Chris Williams drop sake bombs of clinical expertise in discussing who needs a blood alcohol level, who's safe for discharge and what we do with the patient scratching at their non-existent bug bites. Be sure to check out our happy hour menu of evidence-based medicine below and take those opinions with a grain of salt (and a lime) in this month's tall, refreshing pint of AZEMCast.
