Boys by Shirelles

Besides the essential A side, the flip is the terrific original version of a song later covered by the Beatles. Personally, I think it's one of the best Shirelles sides ever, so I've made an mp3 "snippet" so I can hear it as often as I like! It's a perfect encapsulation of that pubescent anticipation of what being intimate with the opposite sex will be like... in this case, imagining sensual thrills previously unimaginable. No wonder John Lennon & his comrades felt they had to weigh in with their own reading of "Boys." :-) Note: This beautiful copy has Near Mint labels (the A label has a tiny tear, but the B label is pristine... see scan!) and vinyl. The A side audio has enough surface noise to warrant an EX+ grade, whereas the B side surface noise is less noticeable, resulting in Near Mint sound in which the very light surface noise is only occasionally audible, mostly at the beginning and ending. Have a listen to the mp3 snippet of "Boys" to hear what I mean by Near Mint in this case.
