Jascha Hagen’s chugging psychedelic disco flavours have marked him out as one to watch over the past couple of years. From a hot ‘Gravel Pit’ edit to seductive releases on Purp & Soul and Gottwax, the German talent is winning fans far and wide, with a production style that’s slick and succinct without ever feeling overly-polished. His attention to detail and deft little touches is rarely paralleled, and imbue his sound a heady, tripped-out feel.

His mix for us comes in the week of the release of his ‘No Matter What EP’ on our label – which has received support from the likes of Dusky,Bill Brewster, Faze Action and Frankey & Sandrino – and takes us on a kaleidoscopic journey through his slow-burning, ‘80s synth-heavy grooves that’s hugely engrossing while never breaking a sweat. The mix is mostly comprised of unreleased material.

How do you describe your sound?

Intergalactic funk and inaccurate house music.

Who and what inspires your music?

Biggest idol is Holger Czukay for sure.

Tell us about this mix…

Lovely bleeps and nasty basslines. A lot of background noise layers. Listen close and get psyched out!
