Sweden’s supremely talented André Laos is a prodigious musician who graduated from the Red Bull Music Academy in 2013 and cuts a fine line in melodic, slickly produced deeper house music.

The Gothenberg-based producer has seriously impressed in recent times, releasing the stunning ‘One Way’ EP on Let’s Play House and ‘Mangold’ on Rob Da Bank’s new Silver Bear Recordings imprint, plus remixing house legends Mood II Swing for King Street. His electronic trio DNKL also look set for huge things - hotly tipped by The Line Of Best Fit and Record Of The Day.

His mix takes us on a journey through his palette of sounds, from joyous piano and disco stompers through to deeper melancholic moments.

*How do you describe your sound?*

I find it very hard to describe my sound as it is something that is constantly developing. I started out making disco tracks from scratch with full band and percussion, all in one take, mostly for experimenting and having fun of course, but there were something very definitive about that process. I did that for many years and now I’m obviously doing something else, more hardware based… pretty straight forward house or techno or whatever you want to call it… although I think it’s pretty easy to spot where I’m coming from!

*Who and what inspires your music?*

Mostly happiness and partying. The philosophy of disco music, right there! Romare’s album ‘Projections’ is something that’s been on constant replay the last couple of months though…

*Tell us about this mix…*

This mix is just a feed of my own stuff basically. Really a weird thing to mix your own stuff. I never do that while playing in a club unless they serve margaritas…
