Kīpahulu, My Yellow Ginger Lei, Pua Karauna, & Haleakalā


Kīpahulu by Jeff and Carl Rasmussen, speaks of the beauty of Kīpahulu on the eastern side of the island of Maui. My Yellow Ginger Lei by John Kaonohiokala Keawehawaii, a local favorite made famous by various Hawaiian music artists, including Dennis Pavao, Richard Kauhi, and Charles Kaipo. Pua Karauna by Keith Haugen, speaks of the crown flower, a favorite of Hawaii’s last monarch, Queen Lili`uokalani. Ka Uluwehi O Ke Kai words and music by Edith Kanakaole. Haleakalā written by Kalani Kekona, speaks of the majestic mountain of the island of Maui and Hōlei, originally recorded by Hui `Ohana, sings of the booming seas of Kalapana, Hawaii Island.
