What I think is really important, and really key to remembering character aspects is how the character behaves, how they’ve responded to situations. That sort of character consistency is far more important than descriptions.

Today’s topic comes via email from Sue who asks if Taylor uses a notebook with photos of her characters and a brief bio on each so when they come back up later in the story it’s easy to describe each of them. That led to a wide-ranging discussion on the value of character bibles, different ways of keeping track of characters and what Taylor feels is far more important than character description, the consistency of a character’s behavior.
