Estonia’s Ongoing Democratising Digital Revolution


Should the free movement of data be the fifth freedom next to the already established freedoms of European citizens? Many argue that apart from lifting barriers, the EU has not yet maximised the growth potential of the data economy. Gareth talks to Sandy Pentland at a digital data conference in Tallinn. Scientists in New Zealand are researching how AR might be used by building assessors (and other inspectors) after an earthquake. In conjunction with a HoloLens headset, a student team in Auckland has built an app that will help to process vital data to be made available at a later date for assessing building safety.
