One Drop Radio .::Episode 01::. “Finally”

After nearly a 4 year break, the One Drop Radio Podcast has returned. Welcome if this is your first time hearing the show. I’ve made a major change to the show, it now has a format. The original One Drop Radio show was a free styled 1 hour set of the music i felt like mixing at the moment. The new format promises more balance and consistency. Half the show will be dedicated to New reggae and dancehall music, the other half will be dedicated to classic and hidden gems from the dancehall and reggae world.

The warm up segment this weeks features classic tunes from the 80s from artists like Max Romeo, Sugar Minott and Dennis brown. I also touch on one of the best eras for culture reggae, the 90s, with tunes from Freddie McGregor, Jah Cure and Capleton. In the Dancehall, I am all over the map with riddims like 100 watt, Medina and Bag Pipe. Plenty of fresh new tunes of course with new tunes from the On The Corner Riddim (Look forward to more from this riddim in Episode 2 or 3). Also one of my favorite tunes of the moment “Finally” by Jesse Royal, and Beres Hammond doesn’t disappoint with his latest single “International Jamaican Dance”. Amazingly, there are still plenty of new Vybz Kartel tunes out there, Shawn Storm as well, this episode won’t disappoint. Also check out new tunes from Cash Flow Records’ Gas Pedal riddim, the i-Octane tune is bad and it’s good to hear a nice new tune from Gully Bop. Thanks for tuning in.
