Episode #6 - Actress, Lauren Ash

ACTRESS - LAUREN ASH Lauren Ash stars as the ever-so convincing Dina, on NBC's new comedy Superstore. Dina is the no nonsense assistant manager you certainly don't ever want to mess with. I still can't believe I am watching her most of the time, and that's because I've known Lauren as the ultimate bestie and birthday wingman of my dear friend Niki, for quite some time now; shout out to the Get Fresh Dog Crew. I became so accustomed to seeing and hearing about Lauren, that you could imagine my surprise when I learned that her natural, comedic sensabitiy and grace wasn't just for nothing. I had no idea. I watch her on Superstore and I am constantly amazed and in awe. Her timing is just so good. The day of our recording was so fun, free and easy. I find that most refreshing; she's just a real, true girl's girl. Her moments that killed me most of all were the ones about life growing up as a teenage "old lady", and of course our teenage sex song exchange. However, those stories I got off the mic though, I wish I could of played those! Lauren Ash is orginally from Toronto, Canada. She started out at The Second City, Toronto and was later invited to perform at the company's main stages in Toronto and Chicago. Last year she killed us as Hortense on the Comedy Central series Another Period, with Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome. Her past roles include ABC's Super Fun Night, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, Lars and the Real Girl, Camille, Scare Tactics, Howie Do It, and countless Canadian series including Lost Girl, Cracked, The Ron James Show, Call Me Fitz, Bomb Girls, Spun Out, and Match Game. She's won six times at the Canadian Comedy Awards, including Canadian Comedy Person of the Year. She's been nominated for an ACTRA Award (Canada's SAG Awards) and the winner of a Canadian Screen Award (Canada's Emmys) for her performance on "Spun Out." Last year she even threw the first pitch at a Blue Jay's game. WHAAAAT! Superstore airs Mondays at 8pm on NBC and it's also streaming on Hulu.
