Eighteen people have been convicted of abusing girls in Newcastle by plying them with alcohol and drugs before forcing them to have sex. It also emerged during the court process that police paid a convicted child rapist £10,000 as an informant. Former director of public prosecutions Lord MacDonald explains that paying this amount of money "isn't unusual". Chief Constable of Northumbria Police Steve Ashman and Labour MP for Rotherham Sarah Champion discuss the ethical and racial implications regarding this investigation.
