Brexit, Boris Johnson and the £350 million figure

Prime Minister Theresa May's flying visit to Canada today marks the start of what could be a significant few days on the road to Brexit. In Florence, later this week, she will deliver what is being billed as a major speech adding more clarity to Britain's approach to the slow-moving Brexit negotiations in Brussels. Will Boris Johnson's intervention at the weekend, and his spat with the UK Statistics Authority over the “£350m a week” claim, have a bearing on the speech? Our political editor Laura Kuenssberg speculates that one of the foreign secretary's motivations is to be considered in the Brexit decision making process. The BBC's reality check correspondent Chris Mason clarifies the £350 million figure that was displayed on the Leave campaign bus. Former Conservative cabinet minister and Leave campaigner John Redwood discusses whether the British public should continue paying money into the EU after the UK has left.
