Episode XXV - Tomb of the Diver

The Tomb of the Diver is a Greek tomb from the 5th century BCE, found in a cemetery outside modern day Paestum, Italy. Unusually for the time it depicts an elabourate painting of a Greek symposium on the four side panels, and the lid shows a diver leaping into a body of water. Guest: Dr Gillian Shepherd (Director, Trendall Centre, La Trobe University).
