Birmingham City Councilor Darrell O'Quinn explains this unique event for Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday! “We have before us the glorious opportunity to inject a new dimension of love into the veins of our civilization.” Martin Luther King Jr. On January 15th join an effort being led by Darrell O’Quinn, City Councilor for District 5, to tell the world about the people and places of Birmingham you love. Dr. O’Quinn will disseminate volunteers throughout District 5 with the request that they document the people and places they love on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter using the hashtag #LoveOnBham. Neighborhoods in District 5 include College Hills, Smithfield, Graymont, Fountain Heights, Central City, Druid Hills, Southside, Lakeview, Avondale, Crestwood North, Oak Ridge Park, Gate City, East Lake, and Wahouma. Spend an afternoon helping us shine some light on the people and places in these neighborhoods that are assets to their respective communities.
