Bullying and victimization in childhood: effects on mental health during adolescence


In this interview, we hear from three of the authors of a prospective cohort study on childhood peer victimization and its effect on mental health during adolescence. They discuss the findings and offer practical advice on how to address and prevent bullying and victimization at home, in schools and from a physician's perspective.Dr. Marie-Claude Geoffroy is a clinical psychologist at the Douglas Institute in Montreal specializing in children and adolescents with severe mood disorders and suicidal thoughts. She is also an assistant professor of psychiatry at McGill University.Dr. Johanne Renaud is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and associate professor of psychiatry at McGill University.
