"The Soul Shack" w/ DJ-J-ME

With a new mix on www.podomatic.com/soulshack each month , DJ-J-ME started "The Soul Shack" in November 2005 on Soulstream Networks as a way to share with the world his take on 'good' music...made with soul. From soulful & classic house to nu disco & chillwave to neo-soul & nu-jazz to rn'b to old school, funk and 'real' hip hop, it's all fair game on "The Soul Shack". Each month, depending on Jamie's mood you may hear any or all of the above music - sometimes a mixed bag of 'all things soulful', sometimes just a particular theme or genre...but always soulful! With Soul Shack parties having occurred in Toronto, New York, Miami & LA, the brand (and DJ-J-ME) continues to grow and gain new fans. Check this podcast for the latest Soul Shack mixes. (Archived Soul Shack mixes are available at www.mixcloud.com/soulshack) About DJ-J-ME: In demand, Toronto based dj who has played everything from 2,000 person Fortune 500 corporate events to Toronto rooftop hotspots like Kost & Lavelle to a decade of TIFF events in Yorkville for various celebrities, as well as gigs in NYC, LA, Chicago & Miami (where he enjoyed a monthly winter residency before Covid hit)...

"The Soul Shack" w/ DJ-J-ME (Feb 2012) aka Poolside Grooves Pt I

Here it is, just in time for Miami (and inspired by Miami), "Poolside Grooves" Pt. I. I was originally only planning on making one 'promo' mix based on that sort of groove that would go perfectly at a pool party...however as I started to put the list together of stuff I wanted to include, it was WAY bigger than just one mix - so I made 3! (and all in one weekend!) Part 1 is more urban, rn'b, old school and re-edits in terms of genre (part 2 is more nu disco / chill wave and part 3 is soulful house).
