The Soul Shack (Jan 2018) aka 2017 House Music ReCap
It's January, and that means looking back with my house music recap from the past year. For the past few years now it seems every time I start putting together the January mix I think to myself "there wasn't that much house music I was feeling this year..." but then I stand corrected when it ends up being 3hrs / 60+ songs long! (back in the early days of the Soul Shack I'd have to narrow it down to only around 20 songs and under 80 mins!) With 3 hours I've got time to really go on a journey through various styles of house (important when you've got eclectic tastes like I do!) So here it is, my look back at the house music that caught my attention last year. Some will be very familiar, having made it into a bunch of my sets, but a few are new to the podcast, either because I couldn't work them into my live sets (ie. the Pablo Fierro rmx of Masala) or because I simply discovered them too late in the year (ie. Healing by Rudimental) So fix yourself a drink, sit back and enjoy!
