While I don’t normally write my homilies this one was written and yet, it wasn’t written in a manner to be read but to be heard. I hope you listen to this homily and so, to further that, I’m going to refrain from posting all of it except these two sentences.
“She, who as a young woman had already tasted and known the effects of the summit, would have that day gazed upon its source, the full flowering of the fruit of her womb.”
“There, in the silence of a broken heart poured out for us, he meets every pain, sorrow, and wound with an infinite love that needs no words to say “I am with you” and “I favor you” because it is shown in the silence of action word took flesh and then, with sheer goodness and love, took the cross as its own. There, in the silence, the words of the angel to Mary “Hail Favored one! The Lord is With you!” are made true for all for all time.”
