Podcast 010

We're going to start posting some occasional guest podcasts. For our first one, we asked Shaun Young (High Noon, Thunderchiefs and Texas Blue Dots) to contribute some Texas rockabilly tracks. For us, the request was something of a no-brainer: in addition to having an encyclopedic knowledge of Texas rockabilly music, Shaun and High Noon played with Ronnie Dawson for years; Shaun also backed up a slew of other great early rock 'n' rollers (like our man Ross Johnson, Shaun's got Charlie Feathers stories). What was especially cool about doing this podcast was leafing through Shaun's autographed records--it's not everyday you see Mac Curtis and Ronnie Dawson signed LPs--and his amazing early/mid '80s rockabilly comps are awesome (no bar codes, hand-drawn logos -- killer boots!). Enjoy these selections from a true maven!
