Dave King is best known for his work with two bands - The Bad Plus and Happy Apple. Dave was finishing up a six night run at the famed Village Vanguard in NYC with The Bad Plus when I caught up with him. We talk residencies, Vinny Appice, Destroying the myth of jazz in NYC, Life in Minnesota, Home Decorating, and more. Recorded in two parts - After playing his first set, Dave and I talked for half an hour (you'll hear him called to stage). After his second and final set, Dave and I resumed our conversation.
