Enoch studied radio production in the mid 1990’s and became an announcer on the Webster University-based radio station KSLH Jazz 91.5 in St. Louis. As early as 2003, Enoch has traversed throughout several iterations of  ’podcasts’. Long before the advent of Apple’s iPod, he began webcasting with a station on Live 365, which was inevitably followed by syndicated episodes on Podomatic. In order, the original shows were entitled… “Eklektika”,”Soul Safari”, “Knocturnal Sunshine”, and the last of which was “Global Warmth”, which had a corresponding listening party event featuring live musical acts, African drumming and deejaying, and was housed at several brick & mortar locations. You can find a few of these archived here, and in response to popular demand, do expect new material and shows in the Spring of 2022. Exact dates will be published soon, so for now please enjoy these older episodes, which never get old, and stay tuned for the future installments!

Knocturnal Sunshine: Picture Perfect

It has been said that one picture can say a thousand words, and if that is so then it is
probably safe to assume that mental pictures could very well speak thousands exponentially.
Such is par for the course as pictures themselves are but mere images or vibrations slowed down and captured,
and are often accompanied by an audible component. Music, for me, when mixed live or in a recording
is usually a collage of days gone by as well as the possibility of those yet to come, perhaps in an alternate reality or fantasy
complete with an aroma, and an undeniable, underlying emotional texture.
As my solar return is on the horizon, I reflect on the past year, with all of its triumphs and defeats,
lessons and losses, as well as those from times past, including a five year marker, and what I was doing
twenty years ago. All of it combined calls for a gratitudinous, regretful, happy yet melancholy
array of lush chords and basslines, creating a rollercoaster ride of feeling with several possible alternate
endings. The beauty of art is just that. It may start as one thing but is left for interpretation by its beholders,
and can invoke infinite possibilities as to its meaning. With that, I will allow these tunes to
describe scenarios with words spoken and some not, as I project my imprint into the psyche of those
that dare to daydream. Gems from groups Koop, Sonzeira, & Hiatus Kaiyote only skim the surface of the
treasures embedded in this mix, as Atlanta based artists like Gwen Bunn,
Khari Cabral Simmons, Emdee Brown and Carmen Rodgers have also influenced my pallette in the recent
past, making the flavors sizzle that much more. Speaking of which, both nuyorican and UK Soul make their
way into the pot as well for the well rounded travelers' appetite, and I do hope that it is whet accordingly.
Indulge. Imbibe. Injoy.
One love.
