Baroness Helena Kennedy

Baroness Helena Kennedy is a barrister and a Labour peer in the House of Lords. She has practised at the Bar for more than 40 years, working on some of the most significant cases of recent times and is a highly regarded human rights campaigner. Throughout her career she has championed law reform for women, setting up her own chambers to work on sex-discrimination cases and to defend women who killed or assaulted violent partners. She speaks to the film director Baroness Beeban Kidron to learn more about the work she does to make the digital world safer for children and also discusses how men are responding to the #MeToo movement with the writer Cosmo Landesman. Helena loves books and is interested in the books women enjoy. Alexandra Pringle, Editor-in-Chief of Bloomsbury publishing and host of the Lush Book Club Anna James join Helena to discuss her theory that women tend to read more novels than men.
