McFaul on Putin's "Incredible Offer"
Michael McFaul, professor of political science, director and senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University, and author of From Cold War to Hot Peace: An American Ambassador in Putin’s Russia(Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2018), talks about the incredible idea from Vladimir Putin to allow McFaul and other U.S. officials to be questions by the Russians, in exchange for allowing the U.S. to question the 12 Russians indicted for interfering in the 2016 election. The President called it an "incredible offer" in Helsinki, the Senate passed a resolution opposing such an exchange, McFaul calls it "incredibly stupid."
