Ag Talk with the Ag Doc

In this episode, Dr. Livesay discusses the USDA's September 21st, 2015, Crop Progress Report and then explains an important article that was recently published in the Agronomy Journal.  The rest of the episode focuses on cover crops!  Special guests include Dave Brandt, farmer and cover crop expert from Ohio, as well as Cole Deklotz, custom applicator from eastern Iowa.  The show also features two excerpts from a presentation by Dr. Eileen Kladivko, Professor of Agronomy at Purdue University.  Dr. Livesay outlines the benefits of cover crops as well as some of the potential problems associated with their use and our guests give some very practical advice on where to get started using covers.  As always, Dr. Livesay concludes the episode with resources for those interested in this topic.
