DF: You are listening to languagecaster.com’s football-language podcast. Welcome everyone to the podcast for all those interested in improving their English skills and who love the beautiful game of football. My name is Damian and I’m here in a sunny London and am looking forward to all of the football this weekend. Now, down the line is Damon, who of course is in Tokyo, Japan. Damon, how are things?


DB: Hi Damian. Things are good thank you. Still extremely hot and humid here but they say it’s the last day of this blistering weather. September should be cooler.
DF: Sounds good. What football have you seen this week?
DB: Well, I saw the Monday night Man U versus Spurs game – that was great and before that I saw Liverpool v Brighton and caught up with some highlights from other Premier League games and Torres’ first goal for J-League side Sagan Tosu. How about you?
DF: I watched Burnley versus Greek side Olympiacos in the Europa League qualifying round – a brave effort by Burnley but they could only draw 1-1 and went out 4-2 on aggregate. And of course on Monday…
