Can't call in at the mo, but I'd say: seek out mentors and meet with them. They won't always be right, but they'll give you experienced perspectives that may fill out your information.

@BrianLehrer I got off active duty in 2009, Im 37 now and Id tell myself to stay on active duty and applied for college or an officers program and get a commission and I would be retiring next year with full benefits.
