Welcome back class, this week your homework was Arthur (1981) and Weekend at Burnie's (1989), where we'll be discussing ways to make your characters more sympathetic. One movie taking what should be a group of unlikable leads and making us empathize with them. The other movie should puts two characters in a horrible situation and actually makes Ally cheer for the (sort-of) villain of the film.
We'll also be looking at strong women, bad unnecessary sequels, and adventures in late capitalism.
